Company History

ASL Safety & Security was formed in 1989, initially specialising in contract electronics design for embedded systems with an emphasis on life-safety applications such as medical, automotive and the fast-growing voice alarm sector.

In 2003 the company made a significant investment, expanding into a modern manufacturing facility to meet growing demand for its BS 5839-8 compliant range of Voice Alarm and Public Address solutions, encompassing a full portfolio of Routing, Amplification, Peripheral and Software Control products which are currently in use throughout the world. ASL has since gained a reputation for pioneering use of DSP routing, Adaptive Class D, Dynamic ANS and fanless cooling technologies.

In 2005 ASL Safety & Security embarked on an ambitious research and development programme to define the next generation of SCADA systems, encompassing comprehensive 3D control of all communications and life-safety subsystems on major infrastructure projects. iVENCS was succesfully delivered as the station control system for London's St Pancras International Station and has since won a number of awards and industry support as an intuitive, easily-scalable platform making extensive use of open source technology and distributed architecture.
