ASL Safety & Security ’s background in developing safety-critical products allows it to respond to the challenges faced by producers, refiners and transporters for voice evacuation and SCADA/control systems.
The iVENCS site control system is well suited to managing the sub-systems that protect petro-chemical facilities. These can include CCTV, access control, building evacuation, perimeter intrusion detection, video analytics, BMS and radio / intercom.
The Intellevac range of BS5839:8-rated wall and rack-mounted voice evacuation systems is used extensively throughout the utilities sector, with individual building evacuation systems often being networked using analogue or IP technology to form a distributed PA system across the facility with paging, control, monitoring and diagnostics made available via the mini-iVENCS user interface.
ASL Safety & Security develops products that not only provide life-critical communication with high redundancy levels in the event of fire or leakage, but also mitigate against potential damage if a facility is breached by intruders. With rapid industrial expansion in the ‘90s predating the current climate of terrorist threat, the design of many legacy installations did not focus sufficiently on security. There are few sectors in which continuity is as important as oil and gas where a break in supply can jeopardise a whole region’s stability.
